Graduate study
Graduate studies include Master's Degree
and Ph.D. Studies, both covered with European Credit Transfer System
(ECTS),
which allows for participants to combine their postgraduate studies
in Ljubljana with their study on other universities, or to complete
all of their postgraduate studies in Ljubljana. The exchange programs
(Socrates-Erasmus, CEEPUS, university exchanges) also enables professors
and students from other universities to participate in the graduate
program.
Master's Degree is organized as a two-years
course (120 ECTS). Course includes three subjects each year - six altogether,
with one per year common to all postgraduate students, and two per year
programmed according to the final thesis of the student. General Subjects
include all disciplines and branches of philosophy. The Master’s Degree
course also allows interdisciplinary program where students combine
courses on different Faculties. For detailed information do not hesitate
to contact Secretariat of the Department of Philosophy. Master's studies
conclude with the public defense of the thesis.
Ph.D. studies are organized on individual
basis according to the project and title of the thesis. Our professors
are fluent in English, German, and French, so there should be no problems
in communication, while for lectures and other regular postgraduate
activities knowledge of Slovenian language is necessary.
The most visible specialty of our Department
is the presence of different schools and streams of thought. You will
find here those who profess critical theory as well as psychoanalytic
theory, those who follow phenomenology and cognitive science, or those
who work in feminist studies and those who develop philosophy of culture.
You will find some general information
about postgraduate studies in Ljubljana on the home page of the University of Ljubljana.
