Central Humanities Library Courses

The Central Humanities Library (OHK FF) is organising free training courses for international students and staff at the Faculty of Arts (FF). The courses are designed to develop information, research and digital literacy, and to support academic and research work.

Participation is free of charge. See below for the course descriptions, dates and venues for each session.

A course in English which is intended for the international exchange students and regular foreign students of the Faculty of Arts. The course offers an insight into the structure and organisation of the Central Humanities Library (CHL) of the Faculty of Arts and its 18 departmental libraries. Participants are informed about their location, opening hours, library services and information services available to our users. We teach students how to search the union bibliographic database and local databases of Slovene libraries in the open public access catalogue COBISS Plus. They are introduced to different kinds of searching: basic, advanced and expert search. They learn how to log in to COBISS user profile and how to use its services (My Library, Shelves, Saved Searches, etc.). We pay special attention to the My Libraries service, so students are able to make reservations, orders and renewals of their library loans by themselves. We also introduce them to the mobile app COBISS Plus.
