Lectures present the field of anthropology of (post)socialism as a part of political and economic anthropology and focus on its history in Slovenia and elsewhere. They outline the space and history as well as offer insight into the ways of living in the former, predominantly European socialist countries. This is followed by presenting selected topics of contemporary way of living in the so-called transition countries and by a critical review of the literature, produced by domestic as well as researchers from abroad. The focus is on positionality, construction and power relations related to (post)socialism, on the connections with post-colonial research and the research of Otherness in general.
