Biological, psychodynamic, cognitive and taxonomic theories on child's play. The forms of child's play. Child's play in infanthood, toddlerhood, early and middle childhood. The development of cognition, language and social cognition in symbolic play. Toys and children's books. Play, toys and children's books for boys and girls. Gender stereotypes. Child's storytelling. Early literacy: early reading, storytelling and emerging writing skills. Humour in children's books. Play and children with mental disorders and motor impairments, blind children, children with autism.
Child's play in different cultures. The role of adults and peers in child's play. Play in family and preschool environment. Shared reading in infanthood, toddlerhood and early childhood. Developmental levels of child's drawing. The drawing of human figure. The elements, colours, space and time in child's drawings. Child's expression through play, drawing and shared reading of children's books.
