Anja Mrak
Anja Mrak is a teaching assistant at the Department of Comparative Literature and Literary Theory, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. She holds a PhD in Humanities and Social Sciences – Literary Studies, which she completed with a dissertation entitled Magical Realism and Feminist Narrative Technique. She previously obtained a dual degree in English Language and Literature (teaching track) and Comparative Literature and Literary Theory from the same institution.
Her research interests lie in feminist literary theory, narratology, postcolonial literature, and contemporary feminist writing, with a particular focus on memory studies and the ways in which contemporary prose engages with collective memory and the legacy of the Second World War. As a postdoctoral researcher, she carried out the project “The Intersections of Aesthetics and Transnational Feminism” at the University of Graz, where she investigated the role of aesthetics in contemporary academic writing on transnational feminism.
She is actively involved in international research and teaching exchanges, having taught and collaborated at universities in Graz, Łódź, Budapest, Vilnius, and Malta. She regularly integrates her research findings into her undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, thereby fostering a dynamic exchange between research and pedagogical work.
