The course is divided into two units:
a) French Literature
b) French Society and Culture
French literature: An overview of French literature of the 19th and the 20th centuries. Students learn about the literary and historical categories of French literature and are able to place it within the context of European literature. They learn about the basic periods in French literature, as well as literary movements, authors, and their works.
French society and culture: selected chapters from French history; Institutions; Political system; Legal system; Economy.
