The course analyzes different conceptualizations of youth and adolescence and shows how different pieces of the puzzle inscribed in the socio-historical conditions of space and time produce possibilities and limitations of the sociological study of youth and adolescence and their position in different social fields. Understanding the social conditions of youth and adolescence is historically inscribed in the material conditions of structures and practices that are produced and reproduced, among other things, in the confrontations of different knowledge (biology, psychology of law, etc.) that influence the formation and rationality of social institutions. including schools).
Around the arbitrary and heterogeneous category of youth and adolescence are formed different social expectations, different forms of inclusion and exclusion, different mechanisms of leadership and management of individuals, which thematizes the subject at the center of complex social, cultural, political and economic dynamics - especially in relation to the field of education.
The course problematizes youth and adolescence in time and space in light of the fluidity of power relations, conflicts, positioning for objectification and subjectivation of the category of young people as social actors in various social fields, and the ways in which young people are included in social fields:
1.) Through the formation of young people's identities (body and sexuality perception, individualism, subcultures ...).
2.) Through the formation of dispositions (in family and upbringing and education).
3.) With the expected social contribution of young people and access to social positions (e.g. in the field of work, leisure, political and civic participation. ...).
