Tch. Asst. Matic Kristan

He obtained an MA in History and an MA in Latin and Greek at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts. In 2024, he began working there as a young researcher at the research programme Slovene History. His research is currently focused on the High and Late Middle Ages, mainly on studies of primary sources. He is writing a doctoral thesis on the canonist Monaldus of Koper (Capodistria) and his work Summa de iure canonico, which is the first encyclopedia of law ever produced. He is mostly interested in history from an institutional and economic perspective.
