Year plus enables learning Slovene for free and at the same fullfiling the study obligations.
It is intended for international students in their first study year at the University of Ljubljana bachelor or master degree programmes.
Year plus is not designed for exchange students (Erasmus+, Ceepus, bilateral agreements, ect.) and for candidates applying for studies that require the knowledge of Slovenian at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

1.3.2023. On October 14, 2022, the European Commission announced that the temporary protection for displaced persons from Ukraine, which was activated in March 2022 for a period of one year, will be automatically extended by two six-month periods until March 4, 2024. In accordance with this decision, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted a decision on the automatic extension of temporary protection for displaced persons from Ukraine until 4 March 2024. Temporary residence permit application
You can find all information regarding applying for a temporary residence permit here (in English) and here (in Slovene).
For those students who need a more thorough examination of the paperwork, who are unsure how to complete the form, or those who are unsure whether they have all for applying, you can consult with our trained International Student Ambassadors. The reviewing of the documentation and filled application forms will take (besides at other locations as stated in the link above) at the UL Faculty of Arts (Aškerčeva cesta 2) for 14 working days in the period from September 18 to October 13 from 10.00 am till 2 pm.

This year, the faculty will organize a "Welcome meeting for international students of the Faculty of Arts", which will take place on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in lecture hall 18 (ground floor). The purpose of this meeting is to welcome international students, introduce them to basic information about the faculty and give them the opportunity to get to know each other.
The event will be held in English.
